Beast Comiquette (Sideshow Collectibles)

Introducing the Beast Comiquette Exclusive by Sideshow Collectibles. Limited to 200 statues with the regular edition limited to 500 statues. The Exclusive includes and extra right hand holding a book and a fine art print. A great modern look for this character Sideshow has captured Henry "Hank" McCoy perfectly. I like a piece that has some depth and this particular sculpt captures not only the brilliance of Hank but also the power and size of the Beast. This statue is actually much heavier than it looks as the beast is a solid sculpt as well as the base.

The display options are limited on this piece to either the hand holding the glasses or the hand holding the book.  Both looks compliment the figure, but personally I prefer the glasses because of all the books on the base . The fine art print for this piece is very well done, unless your framing all these prints and putting them all over your house they pretty much stay in the box.

The Beast was incredibly sculpted, the time taken into the fur is trademark Sideshow when it comes to detail. The paint application as well on this piece is well executed. I'm very happy with the overall size of the statue and it compliments other X-Men in the collection regardless of scale.

I like the fact that Sideshow did not make more of these statues than they did, a low edition size makes this piece welcoming to those that follow the X-Men. Not being one of the most marketable X-Men made it easy for Sideshow to keep the Edition sizes low. Overall an awesome piece that brings great balance to the other gun-ho figures in the collection. Happy Collecting !!

Darth Vader Kneeling Statue

Welcome to YWC, it is my pleasure to share my Darth Vader Kneeling statue by Gentle Giant LTD. The statue is based on the scene in Empire Strikes Back between Vader and Emperor Palpatine as Vader ask's, What is your bidding, my Master ? This was a classic scene in the first trilogy as it is when we are first introduced to the Emperor. The folks at Gentle Giant spared no detail down to the light up base wich definately completes the piece. Vader is superbly sculpted giving the piece a sense of fluidity and presence. The statue is sculpted polystone, 1/6 scale and measures 11.5 inches in height, a great size for a Vader piece without overwhelming your whole shelf. This statue displays very nice with the various Vader busts GG has put out over the years and since the run is 5000 it is not impossible to find and for a good price. Actually turning on the light-up feature on this piece for the first time was pretty exciting especially with the lights out, its almost as if your in the scene, and the piece looks amazing.
I give this piece a strong 9 out of 10 simply because GG got it right.
Happy Collecting.

Thundercats, Hoooooo!

Hard Heroes Statue: Lion-O
Sculpted by: Paul Bennett
Discription: cold-cast porcelain statue.
Aprrox. 14 inches tall

This sculp is an absolute gem my fellow collectors!
A diamond in the rough. Hard heroes and mr. Bennett have revived an 80s classic with the power of cold-cast porcelain and the swift precise stroke of a air brush. though hard heroes is not the only franchise delivering these timeless cartoon characters, I've got to say in my most honest opinion they're the only ones really "GETTING IT"! Bennett has captured Lion-O's pose in the spitting image of the shows introduction. The base of this beautiful piece is designed to look as if he's on the plateau where the Cat's Lair stands. This piece, even though Lion-O wasn't the tallest of the cats, will tower over all the other sculpts because of the base itself. The Sword of Omens and Claw Glove were nicely painted along with his actual outfit.
The paint on the claw delivers a furry look to it and the gems have a nice sparkle. The sword looks great. How Bennett gets such detail in something so small is amazing!
Overall I give the piece a 7 out of 10. If I had to judge it against other thundercat piece I would give it a 9.5. Until next time next time guys...

1/2 scale akuma

Hey guys Alucard here and I'm reviewing the best statue's in my collection Akuma and Shin Akuma. These akuma's are done by The Art Department in the Philippines the same people that sculpted my 1/2 scale hulk. Measurements are 42" inches with the base and 38" inches without the base. These statues have a light up feature, the eyes and base light up, you also have the option to use an ac adapter or batteries to power up the lights it also comes with a dimmer switch so you can adjust the brightness of the eyes. Guys these statues look so real in person I was blown away by all the detail that the Art Department has done with this sculpt the teeth look real the veins look and so does the nails. The uniform that akuma is wearing is real clothing and the material used feels great!! If your a street fighter fan this statue is a must!! The best akuma statue to date. Enjoy the pictures and video and if your interested in owning one of these beautiful statues leave a comment. Don't forget to subscribe to my youtube channel have a great day. Happy collecting!!

Incredible Hulk Comiquette Exclusive

Your World Collectibles is proud to review the Incredible Hulk Comiquette from Sideshow Collectibles. Limited to 500 pieces the Incredible Hulk Comiquette is based on the art of Ariel Olivetti. Weighing in at 30 lbs and at almost 24 inches high this statue is massive. No Hulk statue would be complete without huge muscles and this piece delivers, the detail and definition is trademark Sideshow. I belive the dynamic pose is what makes this piece stand out head and shoulders above the rest. Landing after one of his monstrous leaps the Hulk destroys the ground beneath him flexed and enraged, the pose gives the impression that he's about to make lite work of another one of his enemies. The paint on this piece is excellent but in my opinion I would have preffered the Premium Format olive green to the lighter green, nonetheless an Incredible Comiquette from Sideshow. I proudly present my Incredible Hulk Comiquette EX, until next time, Happy Collecting. LK7

Pop Culture Shock M. Bison

Hey guys Alucard here with a review of the powerful M. Bison by Pop Culture Shock(PCS) and sculpted by the talented and owner of PCS Jerry Malcaluso. This is such a beautiful sculpt and a demanding pose. The two bison's I have here are the regular and the exclusive the difference in the two are the color fabric. They both come with two head sculpts and three different hands for alternate display, originally the bison only came with one head sculpt but Jerry the nice guy that he is listened to his fans and sculpted the second head and threw it for free, the original head is the grin sculpt. The bison measures 19" in height and weighs 20lbs, this guy is not light. The three hands sculpt are beautifully done and very detailed. My favorite is the hand with the psycho power flame flowing around his hand. The hands stick to the arms with a magnet but for some reason the flame hand doesn't stick to well and it's because its heavier then the other hands imo Jerry should of used a stronger magnet. The head sculpts are also held by magnets. Putting the shoulder pads is kind of a pain but all you have to do is move the fabric around until you see the two holes where the pegs go through Jerry made slits in the fabric so that you don't break through the fabric. Be patient and you'll get it. Some people are complaining about the fabric that Jerry used that it's too thin but I think its perfect cause it hugs all of bison's muscles perfect. If your iffy about getting this you shouldn't think about it and just get it cause imo you won't regret it especially if your a street fighter fan. Enjoy the pictures and don't forget to check out my video review have a great day and always happy collecting.

Hulk 1/2 scale

Hi guys alucard here with a review of a beautiful sculpt, the custom made 1/2 scale hulk!!! this statue is so sick! why I say that you ask? you gotta love all the detail on this piece, like the skin the muscles the wrinkles on the skin its just absolutely beautiful you can also see pours on his skin!!. Sculpted by The Art Department in the Philippines, Hulk measures 60' inches tall with base and 53' inches without. He's made out of hollow fiberglass material for lightweight and durability he also has glass eyes and fake eye lashes he is painted in multi-layering translucent and automotive paints for realistic durable skin tone . Since I mentioned the base earlier lets talk about that. It looks like hulk just landed and broke the concrete and is ready to fight, the base looks so real and the sculpted name plate looks awesome too. If your a hulk fan(or just a collector of very good quality statues) you gotta get this, the only thing is that its sold out so if you can find one congrats on your purchase. Click on the pics to enlarge them and enjoy the video. Happy collecting.

Aayla Secura Mini Bust by Gentle Giant

I would like to introduce you to my latest Star Wars bust addition, The Aayla Secura mini bust by Gentle Giant Ltd. This was definately a sleeper piece when first distributed by GG, The Aayla Secura mini bust has shown a strong following on the secondary market and for good reason. A superb sculpt, The Aayla Secura bust shows an essence not usually displayed by the Jedi. Sexy and well textured between smooth skin and gritty textured sculpted leather and her defensive yet confident stance, the piece is definately one of the greats by GG. This particular piece is #1033/4250 but dont let the edition size fool you, finding one will be difficult, in the mean time enjoy mine. Happy Collecting...LK7

DeadPool: (Pearl Thunder Studios Custom)

Now it's time to get serious here folks. There are many fabulous sculpts & amazing representations of our favorite heroes & villans out there in the collectible world. I am not trying to downplay any of the wonderful works being done out there by the pros. & amateurs alike BUT...
Here is the "Custom" DeadPool statue by Pearl Thunder Studios. I will say it now, HANDS DOWN the best DeadPool statue made to date. Bar none, end of discussion! He is 1/4 scale & is Ltd. to 50 pieces. Attention to detail is what makes this statue. Guns, grenades, knives, swords, sheaths, straps, belts, bullets... all the goodies are on this bad boy and completely breathe life into this statue. A true work of art in every respect of the word.

As you look at the sculpt from all angles you will see that there is something new & great around each corner. He is ready for an all out war thats how many weapons he is carrying. A very neat feature is the addition of a real metal sword blade which is in he sword he has in his left hand. Also bullet casings riddle the rusty floor he is kneeling on futher making this statue tower over many in terms of exclusivity & uniqueness.

This satue comes all the way from the Phillipines for those wondering where it can be obtained. Like I wrote before it is Ltd. to 50 pieces so it is very hard to come by. If this statue has any drawback (it is a nit pick actually) it would be the paint on it. It  looks different from your Sideshow/Bowen paint apps. It's more of a matte finish and things like the gun and  the black areas on his body are a bit dull but nothing so major as to affect the overall grandness of this statue.

If you can get your hands on one of these DO IT! You will not regret adding his wonderful piece to your collection. Heck I will go as far as to say he will rival & maybe over take your #1 spot!
Till next time...Happy collecting- Loop

The Padme Snowbunny Mini Bust has been a very hot seller on Ebay over the last week and one of the reasons maybe the continuing popularity of the Padme Snowbunny Maquette issued by Gentle Giant a couple years back. Lord Of Darkness

Hello everyone here I have the Lord Of Darkness from sideshow collectibles. This statue is my favorite in my collection he looks like he jumped right out of the movie legend, for those of you that don't know who this character is he's from the movie legend that was released in 1985, Tim Curry was the one underneath all that makeup in the movie and I must say he did a wonderful job playing that character. This sculpt is very detailed and looks so real the fabric costuming is incredibly elaborate, combining more than ten different fabrics and other materials. The specs are 23" H x 15" W x 15" D so this guy is huge and really makes a presence in any collection.

As you can see sideshow didn't miss any detail they sculpted a full body and painted it even though most of it is covered up with fabric, gotta love sideshow for that. Thanks for checking us out, till next time. Happy collecting everyone.

Holy Croc Batman!

Bursting into your collection comes the Batman Vs. Killer Croc diorama from DC Direct. The statue is part of the classic confrontations line that they have released and it may be the best Batman statue to date (in my opinion).

The statue's dynamic pose and detailing are amazing. It measures 16.5" high X 12.75" wide X 9.75" deep. Ray Villafane (sculpter) has captured Bats & Croc in the climax of a heated battle.Batman is depicted in full battle mode towering over Croc. Cape flowing and batterang swooshing around Croc's snout as a knee is delivered in a furious attempt to defeat the Croc & save not only Gotham but himself from Croc's destruction.
Croc is a tremendous sculpt himself as well. Every single aspect of this villan is meticulously sculpted & detailing makes the drama of this scene come to life. Croc has a couple of batterangs piercing through his scaly body but it really isn't clear who has the ultimate advantage. He will finally defeat Batman and bring mayhem to Gotham City.Another amazing part of the statue is the illusion of the rubble floating in the air as Croc breaks though the street and out of a Gothan City man-hole. Skeletons adorn the floor as Croc has feasted underground & they came up in the breakage. Attention to detail is without a doubt the deal sealer for this statue.

The paint job on this is perfectly excecuted. Batman is in a classic uniform with the yellow utility belt. Croc's color pallette is a work of art in and of itself. It has to be seen live to really take in how even the smallest detail wasn't overlooked. Even the sewer cap has the rust element applied to it. Amazing job by DC Direct all the way around!

This statue comes highly recommended. Easily tops in the Classic Confrontations line & definately a must have for any Batman fan. Until next time...Happy Collecting! - Loop

Up next...GALACTUS!

Greetings one and all. I am really excited to bring you the Galactus Legendary Scale bust by Sideshow collectibles. Without a doubt this piece is the "Bar setter" in this line which Sideshow has released. It measures 21" in height X 15" in width X 12" in depth and weighs approx. 15 LBS. The regular edition size of this bust is Ltd 1250 pieces (this one is #585); while the Exclusive run is ltd to only 150 pieces. The difference between the Ex and the Regular is a Galactus name plate which of course comes with the EX version. Both versions also include a smaller scale sculpt of Silver Surfer to be displayed with the bust further making this masterpiece a must have in your statue collection!

The sculpt and paint job are truly amazing on this one. From the pores on his face to the gritty space dust and erosion particles all over his head and body its all there. The snarl he is expressing brings the bust to life. And the scale really makes it blend in even with the biggest pieces in your collection. This is really close to being the size of a human head folks.... really impressive. Sideshow did not miss a beat and all the little things tie into making this devourer of worlds the showcase that this bust truly is. *Note: The particles appear to be paint flaws on his head and body but THEY ARE NOT...the paint job on this was meant to be like that so don't be discouraged :) Also the blades on either side of his head are detatchable so becareful when handling him.

Don't miss out on this one if you can. I highly recommend this bust (as if you didn't know that by now) and guarantee you that it won't dissapoint. Until next time...Happy collecting! -Loop

Sideshow collectibles Sabretooth Premium Format Exclusive

Here's my Sabretooth Premium Format Exclusive from SS. The piece is an amazing representation of Victor "Sabrettoth" Creed in the brown uniform. Both hands up to the forearms are removable and so is the portrait. The base was done in accordance with the Wolverine premium format base for those that wish to display these two fierce enemies together. The portrait in itself along with the alternate "grinning" portrait are superbly done. The fabric lays perfectly on the piece showing the detail in the sculpt throughout. The base is lighter than expected and partially hollow. Overall an amazing piece and if you picked up the wolverine,a must have. Enjoy. LK7

PS3 God Of War 3 collector's edition

Alucard here and this is the pandora's box sculpt that comes with the collector's edition of GOW3. This sculpt is beautiful imo but the only bad thing I have to say is that i wish it was made out of polystone instead of plastic and rubbery parts, other then that I love it. A must have for any GOW fan, and if you have the kratos statue from sideshow its a perfect match. The collector's edition also come's with a Limited edition God of War art book featuring exclusive art, content and interviews. Click on pics for high res.

Black and White Penguin

Alucard here and this is the black and white penguin from the art of Brian Bolland the pose is really cool the way he's pointing that umbrella like he's ready to poke that bat lol. This is my second statue from the black and white series I absolutely love this line. The statue measures approximately 6" high x 4.5" wide x 4.5" deep, is painted in monochromatic tones, features a Bat-logo-shaped base, and is packaged in a black-and-white box. click on pics for high res.
