Darth Vader Kneeling Statue

Welcome to YWC, it is my pleasure to share my Darth Vader Kneeling statue by Gentle Giant LTD. The statue is based on the scene in Empire Strikes Back between Vader and Emperor Palpatine as Vader ask's, What is your bidding, my Master ? This was a classic scene in the first trilogy as it is when we are first introduced to the Emperor. The folks at Gentle Giant spared no detail down to the light up base wich definately completes the piece. Vader is superbly sculpted giving the piece a sense of fluidity and presence. The statue is sculpted polystone, 1/6 scale and measures 11.5 inches in height, a great size for a Vader piece without overwhelming your whole shelf. This statue displays very nice with the various Vader busts GG has put out over the years and since the run is 5000 it is not impossible to find and for a good price. Actually turning on the light-up feature on this piece for the first time was pretty exciting especially with the lights out, its almost as if your in the scene, and the piece looks amazing.
I give this piece a strong 9 out of 10 simply because GG got it right.
Happy Collecting.

Thundercats, Hoooooo!

Hard Heroes Statue: Lion-O
Sculpted by: Paul Bennett
Discription: cold-cast porcelain statue.
Aprrox. 14 inches tall

This sculp is an absolute gem my fellow collectors!
A diamond in the rough. Hard heroes and mr. Bennett have revived an 80s classic with the power of cold-cast porcelain and the swift precise stroke of a air brush. though hard heroes is not the only franchise delivering these timeless cartoon characters, I've got to say in my most honest opinion they're the only ones really "GETTING IT"! Bennett has captured Lion-O's pose in the spitting image of the shows introduction. The base of this beautiful piece is designed to look as if he's on the plateau where the Cat's Lair stands. This piece, even though Lion-O wasn't the tallest of the cats, will tower over all the other sculpts because of the base itself. The Sword of Omens and Claw Glove were nicely painted along with his actual outfit.
The paint on the claw delivers a furry look to it and the gems have a nice sparkle. The sword looks great. How Bennett gets such detail in something so small is amazing!
Overall I give the piece a 7 out of 10. If I had to judge it against other thundercat piece I would give it a 9.5. Until next time next time guys...
